Christopher Walken
You either love Christopher Walken or you like him. Nobody really dislikes the man; how could you, he’s quirky and strange, and undeniably unique.
When I looked at his filmography, I realized something unusual. He’s been in lots of great films, but almost never as the lead actor. Some of his biggest films: Wedding Crashers, Catch Me if You Can, Pulp Fiction, Batman Returns, A View to a Kill, Annie Hall, and of course The Deer Hunter, for which he won the Best Supporting Actor award. “Best Supporting Actor.” That’s Walken.
He may be better known for his appearances on SNL, including the fantastic “More Cowbell” sketch. You know the strange mannerisms. You know the pompadour haircut. You know the distinctive voice. But I’m not sure we’ll ever really know Christopher Walken.
And I think he likes it that way.
